Namaz

Namaz is the obligatory Muslim prayers, performed five times each day by Muslims. It is the second Pillar of Islam.

God ordered Muslims to pray at five set times of day:

  • Salat Al-Fajr: Dawn, before sunrise
  • Salat Al-Zuhr: Midday, after the sun passes its highest
  • Salat Al-'Asr: The late part of the afternoon
  • Salat Al-Maghrib: Just after sunset
  • Salat Al-Isha: Between sunset and midnight

All Muslims must have to offer namaz on due time. Muslim children are encourage to start offering namaz as soon as they reach seven.

How to Perform Namaz (Salat)

    Takbeer-e-Ola

    ☛ Bring both hands up to ears with open palms and say "Allah-o-Akbar".
    ☛ Now Namaz has been started.

    Qayyam

    ☛ Stand straight and fold both hands on chest (Right hand up and Left hand beneath) in Qayyam.
    ☛ It is Wajib (essential) to recite Surah al Fatiha, followed by any other quranic verse or surah in Qayyam.

    Rukuh

    ☛ Recite Subhana Rabbi Yal Azeem (at least 3 times)
    ☛ Make your back straight in bending position, just like picture and place both hands on knees.

    QOMA (Standing Position After Rukuh)

    ☛ Say Sami Allah Hu Liman Hamidah
    Rabbana Wa Lakal Hamd

    First Sajdah

    ☛ Recite Subhana Rabbi Yal A'laa (at least 3 times)
    ☛ During Sajdah, both nose and forehead must be touching to ground.

    Jalsa (Sitting Position Between Two Sajdah)

    ☛ Sit. Place both hands on knees and recite Allah Humagh Firly Warham-ny Wajborny Warafa'ny Wahdiny Wa'Aafiny Warzukny

    Second Sajdah

    ☛ Again recite Subhana Rabbi Yal A'laa (at least 3 times)
    ☛ During Sajdah, both nose and forehead must be touching to ground.

  • ☛ After second Sajdah, first Rak'at is completed.
    ☛ Atleast 2 Rak'ats needed to perform before we pray Tash-Had.
    ☛ Standup and repeat all steps except Takbeer-e-Ola till Second Sajdah to complete second Rak'at. Then sit in Tash-Had.

    Tash-Had (Sit just like Jalsa)

    Tash-had consists of three parts.
    1st Part ☛ Recite Tash-had prayer(Praise of GOD)
    2nd Part ☛ Recite Darood Shareef(Prayer for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH))
    3rd Part ☛ Pray for ourselves, our parents and all Muslims around the globe

    Tash-had prayer (1st Part) ☛ Atta Heyatu Lilla He Was-salawatu Wat-tayebatu Asalam-o-Alika Ayu Han-nabiyu Wa Rehmatullah he Wabarakatu. Asalam-o-Alaina Wa Ala Ibadillah His-Saliheen. Ash-hadu-Allah elaha ill-lallahu wa Ash-hadu Anna Muhammadan Adbuhu Warasuluh.

    Darood Shareef (2nd Part) ☛ Allah hum-ma Salli Alla Muhammadin Wa Alla Aali Muhammad, Kamaa Sal-laeta Alla Ibrahima Wa Alla Aali Ibrahima in-naka Hameedum Majeed.
    Allah hum-ma Barik Alla Muhammadin Wa Alla Aali Muhammad, Kamaa Barik-Ta Aala Ibrahima Wa Alla Aali Ibrahima in-naka Hameedum Majeed.

    Prayer for all of us (3rd Part) ☛ Rabbi Ja-alni Mukeemas Salati Wamin Zur-riyati, Rabbana Watakab-bal Dua, Rabbanagh Firli Wali Walidaiya Walil Mo'mineena Yaoma Yakoomul Hisaab.

    ☛ Turn your head Right and say Asalam-o-Alikum Wa RehmaTullah
    ☛ then turn your head Left and say Asalam-o-Alikum Wa RehmaTullah
